R.I.P. DAN MCAFFERTY (Nazereth)

The legendary ex-Nazareth singer has passed away at the age of 76.

Throughout 23 studio albums with Nazareth and three solo records, McAfferty proved why he has often been included amongst the greatest hard rock singers of all time. His patented howl could strip paint, but he was dexterious enough to also provide immaculate crooning where necessary given the band's diverse material.

Personally, I witnessed Dan live with Nazareth at least six times and he never failed to impress.

So today The Mighty Decibel celebrates the musical achievements of Mr. Dan McAfferty. Thanks for the memories ... and the great music you left behind!!
