R.I.P. ALAN LANCASTER (Status Quo)

The original bassist/singer for Status Quo and part of "The Frantic Four" has passed away at the age of 72.

Lancaster played on the band's first 16 full lengths (up to 1983's underrated Back To Back), providing bass and writing credits, along with shared vocal chores with Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt. He was also a key visual and sonic ingredient of the early Status Quo live shows, providing the bouncing back beat that drove the band's sound.

So today The Mighty Decibel celebrates the musical achievements of Mr. Alan Lancaster. Thanks for being part of such a great musical legacy!!
